All About Aussie

My photo
I am the Australian born puppy of Matt and Nina. Matt named me Aussie, but my birth certificate name is Wildenfox Earl Jackaroo. Wildenfox Earl is for my parents and Matt gave me Jackaroo, which is the Australian equivalent of cowboy. I am an AKC certified Jack Russell Terrier. I can sit, stay, give manners, give high and low five. I only speak on command and when MamaMuffin yelps "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie"! I recently learned how to roll over, that was fun. Nina taught me how to fetch, which took quite a while, but I eventually got it. My favorite toy is my green ball that Matt and Nina put hot dogs in and I throw the ball to release the hot dogs. It keeps me entertained for at least an hour. I also enjoying finding MamaMuffin and Master. I stay in the kitchen, they hide and then bark, indicating it's time for me to "seek" them out: Hide and Seek! We have a lake in the backyard and I love wading in it, but I'm not confident enough to go swimming. My master bought me a life jacket to help me swim or float along easier. Enjoy the pictures my MamaMuffin posts. She can get annoying with the camera...everyday she takes a picture, or so it seems.

and my brother Dillon Murphy

My brother came to us through Dennis's wonderful mom. He is also a Jack Russell Terrier and the vet gave him a birthday of May 1st. He's so much fun to play with and I'm able to teach him tricks, along with my MamaMuffin. MamaMuffin and I will write for him because too young to blog, but we'll convey his thoughts as best we can.

MamaMuffin blogging: beware!!!

My boys are wonderful. It's an amazing feeling to be actually to feel the love flowing through my heart for them and I can't smile big enough or express to them my love as I feel it. I love Aussie and Dillon so much; I think it's one of the best feelings I've ever felt. Watching them play is like watching National Geographic:

1. Aussie and Dillon will split apart and take a low stance. Then, they just stare at each other...sometimes for over 5 minutes (I timed it)...One of them, usually Dillon, will stand up and "stalk" Aussie (in plain sight) and then pounce!!! Just like that. Aussie generally leaps up just in time and then they're off- running back and forth to the front of the house to the back with a few laps around the ottoman for excitement!

2. Aussie is continuing his quest into Alpha male land. Just today, he left his treat in front of Dillon and when Dillon would attempt to take it, Aussie would bark at him and nip at him. This really happened. I often do that same thing to the boys and Aussie had it happen to him almost every day for a while, so I guess he learned something and now he's doing it on Dillon. So funny, m Aussie. (Aussie also continues to give Dillon "manners" or rolls over when he wants whatever Dillon has- my poor Aussie, he doesn't realize Dillon has no clue what that means!!!)

3. This evening, while I was chopping up some veggies to freeze, the boys were napping and then Aussie awoke. As I looked behind me, he was sniffing at Dillon. When Aussie wants to play, he wants to play NOW and he'll generally attempt to wake up me and Dillon both. In the morning Aussie will (seriously!) come up to my face and stare...I guess not just kids do it, dogs too!

4. I know Aussie has told everyone about Dillon's bunny-hopping tendencies. It's the funniest thing to watch. He'll get a treat or toy in his mouth and throw the thing in the air and hop around like a horse or bunny. I tried to download the footage, but it was taking forever.

MamaMuffin- over and out

Those boys seem so smart!! Grace always stares at me in the morning. I know when she gets up because I can hear her door open. But she will stand there till I open my eyes. Then when I finally do get up she says, every morning, "Why you git up Mommy, why you git up?" And I say "BECAUSE YOU WERE LOOKING AT ME!!!" She is so funny. Whithout my Grace our household action would be cut in half. Anyway we can't wait to see you and the boys!
