All About Aussie

My photo
I am the Australian born puppy of Matt and Nina. Matt named me Aussie, but my birth certificate name is Wildenfox Earl Jackaroo. Wildenfox Earl is for my parents and Matt gave me Jackaroo, which is the Australian equivalent of cowboy. I am an AKC certified Jack Russell Terrier. I can sit, stay, give manners, give high and low five. I only speak on command and when MamaMuffin yelps "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie"! I recently learned how to roll over, that was fun. Nina taught me how to fetch, which took quite a while, but I eventually got it. My favorite toy is my green ball that Matt and Nina put hot dogs in and I throw the ball to release the hot dogs. It keeps me entertained for at least an hour. I also enjoying finding MamaMuffin and Master. I stay in the kitchen, they hide and then bark, indicating it's time for me to "seek" them out: Hide and Seek! We have a lake in the backyard and I love wading in it, but I'm not confident enough to go swimming. My master bought me a life jacket to help me swim or float along easier. Enjoy the pictures my MamaMuffin posts. She can get annoying with the camera...everyday she takes a picture, or so it seems.

and my brother Dillon Murphy

My brother came to us through Dennis's wonderful mom. He is also a Jack Russell Terrier and the vet gave him a birthday of May 1st. He's so much fun to play with and I'm able to teach him tricks, along with my MamaMuffin. MamaMuffin and I will write for him because too young to blog, but we'll convey his thoughts as best we can.

Blogs suspended...

Nina and Matt are going through a rough patch. Blogs are being suspended for a while, sorry. Just a little sad, the dogs are my comfort right now and I'm just too sad to blog some happiness.

Wild kingdom: Aussie, Dillon, and Tigger

T-I-double gah-rrrr........for those who don't know, I love Tigger and I had a lot of stuffed animals. oh, ***MamaMuffin blogging***

I recently sold some of my stuffed animals at the community yard sale last Saturday and just tonight as I went out to the garage, the boys naturally followed. One of the older Tigger's was on the ground and our very own sneaky puppy nugget quickly picked it up- looked at me- and turned around and ran out of the garage as if he was invisible. One of the funniest things I've seen in a while. He really was trying to be sneaky. I didn't get mad and Aussie must have felt my non-madness b/c he started in on the chewing and playing with the newly captured Tigger also.

They pounced on Tigger and look at Aussie- like he got caught...it's like National Geographic

Dillon is having a lot of fun with his "kill"...although Aussie is sneaking in for a bite too!

Playful nuggets

Early this Sunday morning, the boys have started the day on a fun and happy note: playing wonderfully together. Aussie is taking the lead and pouncing and pinning puppy nugget down, but just a few minutes ago, he allowed Dillon to "pin" him. ***They are sprinting around the house as I type! Sooo funny!*** They are having a lot of fun this morning wrestling around. It makes me laugh out loud to hear the stomping of their running (like a stampede) and the heavy breathing followed by quick growls. ***Aussie has just plopped down next to me and he gave an I-need-a-break sigh!*** Puppy nugget is playing by himself once again. Dillon can play by himself all day long, picking up toy after toy and rolling around on the floor with them.

Aussie won several rounds of wrestling against puppy nugget. Dillon is healing very nicely and he probably should be taking it easy still, but I check his wound throughout the day and he's doing fine.

Aussie went under the island, but puppy nugget found him! Haha

Who needs Saturday morning cartoons...

Who needs Saturday morning cartoons when I got these pups to entertain me. They are so funny! Actually yesterday, Saturday, the pups were locked in the kitchen while I participated in the community yardsale and made a couple of bucks :) Aussie was promptly up at 7am and then again this morning, 6:59am...how does he do it? He knows exactly what time to start making just enough noise to wake me up. No joke- this dog literally, every morning (except when I wake them up at 5am to go to school) wakes me up at 7am (+/-) 3 minutes. He has an exceptional internal clock. Well here are some pics of the boys playing early in the merrrrning.

They are "gettin" that coon...teamwork, it's all about teamwork!

Dillon's surgery

Here are the puppy nugget's surgery ouies. (Yes, I'm going after a bite!) On the right, he aggravated it a bit by playing too much with big brother nugget.

Here is the puppy nugget sleeping soundly. MamaMuffin got up, went to the kitchen to get the camera and came back- Dillon never woke up. She had given him his pain pill a little earlier. I checked up on him during the first two days. He seems all better now.

Just a little Aussie...

The night Dillon came home from surgery MamaMuffin had to study for a midterm the next morning and so it was the perfect time for her to sit still (to get puppy nugget to rest too). I of course have no problem just lounging, except for when MamaMuffin sticks that camera in my face and wake me up!

"Such a big yawn for such a small boy" MamaMuffin always says (in her special voice) :) Oh and look at that face, I'm a handsome nugget!

Must Read: My adventure with Dillon...

***MamaMuffin blogging***

I picked up Dillon from the vet today. Dr. Hasting's said everything went great and handed Dillon over to me after he gave me the "doctor's orders".

Then, puppy nugget and I stopped at the gas station...this where the trip took a downhill tumble:
a. Turned off the engine.
b. Left the windows rolled up.
c. Left Dillon in the car.
d. Was a cool day.
e. Got gas- didn't leave the car's side.
f. Went to get into the car- Dillon is at the window and Dillon's paw is on the lock thing: yup, he has locked me out.
g. Forgot my phone at home, but that didn't matter, it probably would have been in my purse, which was locked in the car.
h. Long story short, the nice lady at the gas station let me use the phone and phone book, nice man that Allstate Motor Club contacted came and in 5 seconds, I was unlocked-out-of-my-car.
i. By the way- I'm glad I have Allstate Motor Club, how easy it is to get help (this is the second incident. The other incident was a dead battery upon returning from Florida with Aussie at midnight- so, both incidents with the dogs.)

Anywho, Dillon is fine. He's running around like a monkey, against the doctor's orders...I'm trying to sit still so he will. I have to study for my midterm exam tomorrow, so he'll really have no choice.

Oh, BIG BIG NEWS: uhh, when did my little boy start lifting his leg? We came home and him and Aussie headed outside and through the kitchen window there he was- lifting his leg to wee. Oh, my goodness, has the surgery surged him into manhood- nah...I did the math, I guess Aussie was about this age when I also witnessed his first leg lift. I generally always see Dillon wee b/c he still gets treats for weeing outside and it's been a squat up until tonight. He'll get his pain meds tonight at 9pm, I hope he's not in too much pain with all of his running around and being locked inside the car.

Dillon is tall tall tall!

MamaMuffin got a little annoyed with puppy nugget squeaking his ball, so she placed it up in the cubby above the TV. It was up there for a bit when Dillon started standing on his hind legs!!! MamaMuffin got the camera quick and snapped some pics of puppy nugget sniffing out the ball. He's one tall nugget!

He was really stretching out and balancing really well- even I can't do balance that well!
MamaMuffin finally gave him the ball, only to take it back just as fast (annoying squeaker).

Play time!

MamaMuffin has been studying for midterms this week so puppy nugget and me have to keep ourselves entertained. Here we are with our respective balls waiting for MamaMuffint to throw them...then we started playing tug of war,

Puppy nugget at the vet for surgery

My poor MamaMuffin started to get teary eyed as she handed Dillon over to the technician at the vet. Puppy nugget is staying at the vet hospital tonight because he is getting ***whisper*** neutered ***whisper*** in the morning. He didn't seem scared, but MamaMuffin started to cry and as she signed the paperwork, she started really crying. She quickly composed herself though; she didn't expect to get soooo emotional! Her Mama comforted her (her Mama has two [sometimes 3] nuggets: Kiko, Lila, and Shamoo (Shamoo is MamaMuffin's sister's dog). I hope my puppy nugget brother is okay and doesn't get to lonely tonight. He loves to cuddle with MamaMuffin and vice versa...so I'm sure she's going to try and cuddle with me for a bit- oh joy!
He'll be home tomorrow afternoon, we can't wait for him to come back, we miss him already.

Just us...

This morning, while MamaMuffin was blogging in my blog, puppy nugget and me were playing with both our "new" toys from Dennis' mom. So much fun so early in the merrnning (as MamaMuffin would say!)

Check me out leaping for my toy- Dillon looks impressed!

Dillon is kinda funny!

***MamaMuffin blogging***

First of all: Matt, yes, Dillon slept with me again :( sorry, but he's a good cuddler!

All right, on to the business of blogging...Dillon is too cute for words. Aussie was never as good as a cuddler (probably b/c Matt isn't a good cuddler and he raised Aussie a tiny puppy) as Dillon is now. At night, Dillon will settle in right next to me and no matter how often I toss and turn and flip him around, he settle right back into a perfect spot for cuddling. Last night, I wake up to turn and he's upside down, but I couldn't find his face (where had my nugget's head gone?) Oh, there it was-practically under my shoulder! His neck was curved in the most painful looking position, actually his entire body was, and his face was being smothered by the MamaMuffin, me!!! Eh, he didn't seem to mind though, I moved him and his body was listless, but then again, I thought, it always his when he's sleeping. I got a whimper out of him, so I knew he was still breathing.

So at the usual 7am time (pretty much to the dot!) Aussie was right there licking my forehead and staring at me (as I snuck a peak from under the covers)...his eyes were happy and his tail was wagging --- I was time to wake up! Dillon and I were still sleeping---eventually around 7:30am, I indulged the big brother nugget and gave him the "GOOD MERRRRNNNNING" (yes, that's pronounced "merning")...whenever I say that, the boys know it's happy time, or time to get up! It's our thing. I was teasing Aussie and hiding under the covers when Dillon finds an entrance to under the covers and begins to crawl over me. (side note: Aussie loves to catch "movements" under blankets; I always have him chase my hand under a blanket, so for him Dillon was a really big hand to chase) Aussie targets Dillon and they begin to play, it was so funny! Dillon is crawling around under the blanket and Aussie is pouncing and trying to chomp on him. Dillon eventually made his way out at which time, Aussie gave one last, great big pounce!

Somethings, like what I have just described, are too cute and funny and I'm so sad you're not here to see them Matt. I can't wait for you to come home. We love you.

Best brothers!

Yesterday was really nice outside. Dillon and I enjoyed the cool breeze and MamaMuffin took me for a walk, although I didn't dip my paws into the lake, which is usually part of our walking routine. Puppy nugget cried, but Charlotte called for him and he calmed down a little. MamaMuffin says Dillon isn't as easy to walk as I was and am.

Look at puppy nugget's long legs...and check out my muscles! He jumps higher and higher every day and the little stinker is quick! I love my puppy nugget; he's the best brother ever!
