***MamaMuffin blogging***
I've had a rough week and I took the pups to sleep with me early (for a Friday) at 10:00pm. I fell right to sleep, I think, but then I was awakened by a phone call from Matt. He let me go back to sleep (he probably called around midnight- usual time), but then at 2:30 am Aussie and Dillon started barking. I'm not sure what they heard or which one started it, but Aussie quickly became alert. Aussie was never one to be "the guard dog", but since Dillon's arrival and Dillon's "guard-dog-ways", Aussie has stepped up his game. So Dillon was barking for a minute and then he went back to sleep, but Aussie was getting restless: barking and looking out of the window. He finally decided to go downstairs by himself and of course Dillon followed. He kept barking and I think, inducing Dillon to bark. He was sitting in front of me on the floor, giving me manners and whining and I finally just gave in, I got up, checked the alarm (which is always on), then walked downstairs with the boys: I don't know what the commotion was about??? That satisfied him and when we returned back upstairs, he went to sleep finally. He kept me up for almost half an hour so I really did think, he'd probably sleep in past 7am- NOPE! 6:30 am rolls around and Aussie is walking around checking on me and Dillon (who is also still sleeping). Then at 7am Dillon begins to awake- probably b/c Aussie kept bothering him and my face was being licked and I was being pounced on- for which I quickly showed some alpha male rage. Aussie and Dillon respond well to my alpha male dominance. So here we are, awake before 8am on a day I wanted to stay sleeping until at least 9am. I guess I never really sleep that late, before Dillon, Aussie and I would be up around 7:30 or 8am and Matt would stay sleeping until 9 or 10am. I'm sure they'll both be sleeping within the next hour!
All About Aussie
- Aussie
- I am the Australian born puppy of Matt and Nina. Matt named me Aussie, but my birth certificate name is Wildenfox Earl Jackaroo. Wildenfox Earl is for my parents and Matt gave me Jackaroo, which is the Australian equivalent of cowboy. I am an AKC certified Jack Russell Terrier. I can sit, stay, give manners, give high and low five. I only speak on command and when MamaMuffin yelps "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie"! I recently learned how to roll over, that was fun. Nina taught me how to fetch, which took quite a while, but I eventually got it. My favorite toy is my green ball that Matt and Nina put hot dogs in and I throw the ball to release the hot dogs. It keeps me entertained for at least an hour. I also enjoying finding MamaMuffin and Master. I stay in the kitchen, they hide and then bark, indicating it's time for me to "seek" them out: Hide and Seek! We have a lake in the backyard and I love wading in it, but I'm not confident enough to go swimming. My master bought me a life jacket to help me swim or float along easier. Enjoy the pictures my MamaMuffin posts. She can get annoying with the camera...everyday she takes a picture, or so it seems.
and my brother Dillon Murphy
My brother came to us through Dennis's wonderful mom. He is also a Jack Russell Terrier and the vet gave him a birthday of May 1st. He's so much fun to play with and I'm able to teach him tricks, along with my MamaMuffin. MamaMuffin and I will write for him because too young to blog, but we'll convey his thoughts as best we can.
