Aussie and Dillon

Hi all! Aussie and Dillon are doing wonderful with their Aunt Carrie. Aussie has fully recovered...he did not loose his eye. Dillon and Stella are the best of friends, always playing together. Carrie has been great and is taking the best care of our babies. WE MISS AND LOVE OUR BABY BOY NUGGETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The boys are away

Hello all! The boys are away for a bit with Matt's sister in South Carolina. There was an unfortunate incident the last night we were there. Matt and I had to return home for work committments and so our baby boy is with the best second mama muffin he could have, Carrie (Matt's sister). Aussie went after her cat and the cat punctured Aussie's eye. We took him to the emergency vet first thing the next morning, but we had to leave that afternoon. He had an immediate appt the next day with the vet, but she immediately (see an "immediate" trend) referred him to a vet opthamologist. He had surgery this morning (all of this occured within two days). He's doing well, Carrie tells us. She's return for a followup tomorrow morning and then again in 10 days. Please pray for our handsome boys health and strength. We are so saddened that we can't be with him- our situations are beyond our control. Carrie is more than capable to taking care of both our boys, especially our injured one at the moment. Here are some photos (included in a before of Aussie on the trip).

Update on the boys

The boys are doing wonderful! I still fall in love with my baby-boy Dillon everytime I look at him (I dote on him). Dillon has recently been allowed off of his leash at a nearby park. There is a wide open field with very little human traffic, so Matt and me are able to toss the ball and let Dillon run for miles. He's so ball driven, once you get him playing fetch his mind doesn't wander far away from fetching that ball! It's amazing, he's amazing. It makes me sad to think someone isn't enjoying all that he has to offer. I still feel so grateful to Dennis' mom (Becky) for letting me adopt him. Aussie is still smart and cute as ever. I don't mean to ignore doting over Aussie, but my Dillon nugget has stolen my heart. Aussie is so quiet and well behaved- he's nearly the perfect dog. He even acts to big for his paws somedays. I think he's nearly as smart as a human somedays.

The blog will be suspended for a few months ( I suppose it's been on suspension for a bit now anyway!) I thought I could find time, but I enjoy the time with my boys so much when I return home from work or a trip that I forget to document the days. They make me laugh, stare in amazement, and gush EVERY SINGLE DAY. I love my boys. Photos soon to follow.

Dillon and his energy

My baby boy needs several play times dedicated to him throughout a day. Today was no exception; it was a gorgeous day so it was ideal to have him outside enjoying it. Aussie went for a walk today b/c he's not into playing fetch, but Dillon played fetch with several different balls today. This evening I finally had to stow away his toy balls because he was becoming obsessed with them, but he found another toy! I was fairly excited about the frisbie he found, he hadn't been interested in it since when we first got it. So we went outside and played. I sometimes sit at the door and he has learned if he doesn't put the ball/toy on the carpet or in my lap, I won't throw it. Even when we came back inside, he was having a blast with it!

Aussie relaxes more than he plays

Aussie nugget doesn't seem interested in playing much these days. I think it's because of Dillon, he's a very dominating character. Although, even before Dillon, Aussie's attention span for fetch was short anyway...here he is relaxing the in the cool breezy day it was.

Good close ups of my love nuggets. Matt and I have been gone alot lately with work, but I'm going to try very hard to keep up this blog. I love looking back at the previous posts...like walking through memory lane. Here's my baby's neck- Dillon is on antibiotics for a couple of weeks. I LOVE MY BABY BOYS!!!

Aussie does not like the water. He refuses to get near the water edge of the lake- UNLESS there's a boat out there creating waves for him to chase!!! Here he is enjoying his day out chasing some small waves

ATTENTION: NANNA ELIZABETH!!!

It's great to hear from you. We'll get the blog started up again in about a month. Aussie is a shining star here in the US. Everyone comments on how clever, how well behaved, and how handsome he is. He is a beloved dog to everyone we know. As you know, we just celebrated his 2nd birthday.

We found Dan from Florida (he contacted you last year inquiring about Aussie's dad). My sister will be adopting a girl jack russell from his most recent litter. We will get her at the end of the month and deliver her to my sister. Eventually, we will mate Aussie and her. We requested that Dan not dock the tail of the girl. We love the tail of Aussie and didn't want to lose that unique feature of a Jack Russell here in the states!

We absolutely love Aussie, his most adorable feature is when he gives "manners". I think I got the term from you all, it's where he sits up on his butt with his front paws in the air. We taught him that performing "manners" is like asking for permission or saying please. Whenever he wants something from us, he'll give us "manners"! He has even given "manners" to other dogs when he wants something from them- he can no longer last in the wild!

We adopted a rescue dog that may be a mix of something with Jack Russell, giving Aussie a little brother, and he terrorizes Aussie like a true younger brother! They have lots of fun running around and wrestling.

I was memed by my Matt's sister Mel. I have heard of this "memed" thing, but as "tagged"...

OK. For the list of the six:

1. Dillon gets his bath...in the shower, with me. Ewww...no not gross, he loves showers, hates baths??!! Go figure?!

2. Everytime I ride the elevator in a building one of my classes is in, there is a computer operated voice that says "going up" when the door opens and I always reply "Yes please". The voice sounds so real, I feel I'm obliged to be polite.

3. I love shopping for gifts for family and friends...and will often buy something for someone months in advance and find a reason to finally give them the gift

4. I love to cook so much I invite people over so I can cook for them...again, I find any reason (like buying gifts) to cook. Carrie can attest to this...with my posted meal menu during their trip!!!

5. Matt just gave me another example: I have an irrational fear to rubber bands (that would technically make it a phobia...but I don't think it's that bad)

6. I have an obsession with criminal shows. I am especially, at the moment, into The First 48, an A&E tv show that tracks the first 48 hours of an investigation. It's not glamorous, but when they find the bad guy, the justice is real. The show isn't fabricated. I watch all of the criminal type shows on A&E.

I don't know any other bloggers, so this is where this will end. This was fun!
