All About Aussie

My photo
I am the Australian born puppy of Matt and Nina. Matt named me Aussie, but my birth certificate name is Wildenfox Earl Jackaroo. Wildenfox Earl is for my parents and Matt gave me Jackaroo, which is the Australian equivalent of cowboy. I am an AKC certified Jack Russell Terrier. I can sit, stay, give manners, give high and low five. I only speak on command and when MamaMuffin yelps "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie"! I recently learned how to roll over, that was fun. Nina taught me how to fetch, which took quite a while, but I eventually got it. My favorite toy is my green ball that Matt and Nina put hot dogs in and I throw the ball to release the hot dogs. It keeps me entertained for at least an hour. I also enjoying finding MamaMuffin and Master. I stay in the kitchen, they hide and then bark, indicating it's time for me to "seek" them out: Hide and Seek! We have a lake in the backyard and I love wading in it, but I'm not confident enough to go swimming. My master bought me a life jacket to help me swim or float along easier. Enjoy the pictures my MamaMuffin posts. She can get annoying with the camera...everyday she takes a picture, or so it seems.

and my brother Dillon Murphy

My brother came to us through Dennis's wonderful mom. He is also a Jack Russell Terrier and the vet gave him a birthday of May 1st. He's so much fun to play with and I'm able to teach him tricks, along with my MamaMuffin. MamaMuffin and I will write for him because too young to blog, but we'll convey his thoughts as best we can.

Dillon has lungs!

Matt, Matt, Matt, you're going to come home to a house full of barking. I came home from class this morning and was not greeted by distressed-looking dogs at the gate. I quitely went to the back door and saw them hanging out, amusing themselves. They've been playing non-stop since I've arrived home, 5 hours ago. Dillon has been barking up a storm and then every now and then a "big boy bark" (Aussie). Dillon sounds all squeaky when he barks...so cute. He's been hopping around all afternoon egging on Aussie to play another game and sometimes Aussie will bark in his alpha male tone and scare Dillon a bit. I wanna protect Dillon during those times, but I know I can't; Aussie has to assert his dominance. I was telling my mom the other day, Dillon knows Aussie and I are the boss, but I think Aussie has truly shown dominance (b/c Dillon has went into the submissive pose)- but he has never with me. He listens to me and I know he respects me, but when I try and "throw him down", he just thinks I'm playing. Well, as long as he respects and listens to me, I guess I'll let Aussie do the "dirty work". I especially love these days when they just play, play, and play more. Dillon is so full of energy- I can't wait for you to meet him, you're going to love him instantly. Oh, Aussie will always be our big boy and of course we'll continue to showcase his dominance over Dillon, but Dillon is so different than Aussie and it makes him so easy to love. He has such an out going personality. Their relationship is so much like a "real" big brother/little brother, I just love sitting back and watching them interact.
