My new nugget brother is a quick learner, I'm fairly surprised that my mamamuffin managed to adopt a dog that will rival my genius-osity (is that a word?). Anyway, MamaMuffin began to teach him sit yesterday and he did indeed, sit. He also sits before he goes outside and before he eats- and he did it all again today! Oh, and he also remembered "down" today. He wouldn't fetch for MamaMuffin today, unfortunately, but he did make Mama VERY VERY happy when he went outside to poop on two separate occasions. MamaMuffin woke up every few hours last night to take Dillon wee wee and when he'd go wee, she's give him a treat and praise him lots. Well, I guess it worked because today there were no accidents in the house and he went outside to go wee wee and poop all on his own. MamaMuffin said I was being too rough today, maybe I was? I'm so proud of my nugget brother. He slept on MamaMuffin's chest today, she's getting some good cuddles in. The vet said he was 7 pounds but MamaMuffin says he feels like 4 pounds and now she says I feel really heavy! He is really taking to his crate, yesterday he took a nap with not crying and also last night and again for nap time this afternoon- he didn't whine at all. The first night he cried for about 1/2 an hour, but MamaMuffin let him cry and eventually he went to sleep. I know I cried when I was in the crate and MamaMuffin gave in right away with me; she says Dillon is too young to not be sleeping in his crate. It seems like a good thing especially since he's so well adjusted now!
Aussie and Dillon sleeping after playing rough...Aussie was getting a bit fiesty...
Dillon is so adorable, his face is delicious. Look at the mess these two dogs make!
Dillon "sitting" on command...and Aussie too! Then Dillon went "down" on command! My precious boy is so smart, just like is smarty paws big brother.
And of course...this is Aussie's blog, and he still loves being the center of attention. Often times during Dillon's training, Aussie is in the background doing every trick he knows. I have to give him a command and then give him plenty of praise and a couple of treats.
