All About Aussie

My photo
I am the Australian born puppy of Matt and Nina. Matt named me Aussie, but my birth certificate name is Wildenfox Earl Jackaroo. Wildenfox Earl is for my parents and Matt gave me Jackaroo, which is the Australian equivalent of cowboy. I am an AKC certified Jack Russell Terrier. I can sit, stay, give manners, give high and low five. I only speak on command and when MamaMuffin yelps "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie"! I recently learned how to roll over, that was fun. Nina taught me how to fetch, which took quite a while, but I eventually got it. My favorite toy is my green ball that Matt and Nina put hot dogs in and I throw the ball to release the hot dogs. It keeps me entertained for at least an hour. I also enjoying finding MamaMuffin and Master. I stay in the kitchen, they hide and then bark, indicating it's time for me to "seek" them out: Hide and Seek! We have a lake in the backyard and I love wading in it, but I'm not confident enough to go swimming. My master bought me a life jacket to help me swim or float along easier. Enjoy the pictures my MamaMuffin posts. She can get annoying with the camera...everyday she takes a picture, or so it seems.

and my brother Dillon Murphy

My brother came to us through Dennis's wonderful mom. He is also a Jack Russell Terrier and the vet gave him a birthday of May 1st. He's so much fun to play with and I'm able to teach him tricks, along with my MamaMuffin. MamaMuffin and I will write for him because too young to blog, but we'll convey his thoughts as best we can.

Early mornings in the garden!

I am finished with the gardens- for now. Wow, what hard work, but it feels good to see the end result. I'm not finished; I think I'm going to expand the garden by the fence another foot and then I can put up the little white fence border. Oh- I forgot pictures of the front of the house...also a little spruced up! Anyway, the last few days have been great for gardening work, but this morning was humid. Here's some pictures and captions:
************************************************************************************

The haze of humidity in the morning, but this is the "before" shot, kinda. It actually looked worse with the wood and weeds I just removed from there last week!

This is the rubbermaid container now holding the hideous wood that Matt cleared a few months ago...and then I put some pea gravel under this drainage area. This is the rock I'm going to place in some other areas also.

Okay, so in the early morning humidity, Aussie chose to only check up on me he never brought his entire body out! Dillon came out to sniff around and keep me company. So here is a shot of the finished garden (side of the house- shady area).

Here is another shot of the garden. It really makes this space feel warmer and not like a junk pile. The backyard's garden is along the fence line. Charlotte, my neighbor on the side of the garden, was my inspiration, she has a beautiful yard and a garden along the fence line. Her garden is a bit nicer, but I just started, so hopefully next spring it'll be much nicer. I planted some verbena's (yellow and purple), which are perennials and a deco mum in the corner. That plant is supposed to grow big! So it'll have it's own corner with lots of space. If I expand the garden, I'll probably bring the perennials forward and add some height behind them.

My deco mum, verbena, and another plant....this is my rescued duck Carol. She was in the wine shop I work at and they were going to put here away, but I decided she'd be a great addition to the garden.
A few photos with my boys, Aussis and Dillon, in the new garden!
Aussie and Dillon's "oasis", this is the corner that Aussie loved to sit in and so I decided to add some gravel (he liked the gravel in the front porch area). I also found this cute accessory "It's a dogs life"- to make sure any other pesky animal would know it's not for them to hang out in!
The boys lounging! They're so lovable...and Charlotte took this photo of me with the boys in their oasis. It's too small for me, but the perfect size for them!
